Terms & Conditions
Effective date: 19 August 2026 · Applies to sreenath.tech (portfolio, tools, blog)
These terms form a legally binding agreement between you and me (Sreenath R, the operator of this website) for your use of this site. By accessing or using any page, tool or feature, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") apply to your access to and use of the website sreenath.tech, including all sub-pages, the interactive tools ("Tools"), the blog ("Blog") and related services (together, the "Service"). Using the Service in any way — including merely browsing — constitutes acceptance of these Terms and of the Privacy Policy and the Legal & Regulatory Disclosures.
Because the Service is delivered as a website, these Terms are concluded electronically. This agreement is an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000 (as amended) and is generated by a computer system; such records are valid under, and entitled to all protections afforded by, sections 4 and 10A of the Information Technology Act, 2000.
2. Nature of the website
The Service is a personal portfolio and educational publication operated by an individual. It provides:
- an online portfolio and professional profile;
- free interactive software tools for data engineering, tax and finance planning, resume analysis and similar utility tasks;
- a blog with technical articles and how-to content.
Unless stated otherwise, all parts of the Service are provided free of charge. Nothing on this website constitutes an offer to sell, a solicitation of an offer to buy, or the provision of any regulated financial service in India or elsewhere.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to use this Service. By using it you represent that you are 18 or older, or, if a parent/guardian is giving consent under the DPDP Act, 2023, that such consent has been obtained. If you are accessing the website on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you are authorised to bind that organisation to these Terms.
4. No regulated financial advice
Investments in the securities market are subject to market risks. Read all the related documents carefully before investing. Before making any investment, tax or other financial decision, consult a SEBI-registered investment adviser, a qualified chartered accountant and/or an income-tax professional. Past performance, simulations and backtests never guarantee future returns. See the Legal & Regulatory Disclosures page for full disclaimers.
5. Use of content (copyright)
All content published on this website — text, code samples, diagrams, images, tool interfaces and software — is owned by me or my licensors and is protected by the Indian Copyright Act, 1957 and international copyright conventions, unless a specific third-party credit says otherwise.
- You may access, view and, for genuinely personal use, print or save individual pages.
- You may not copy, reproduce, republish, scrape, re-upload, sell, sub-licence or commercially exploit the content or tools, in whole or in part, without prior written permission.
- Brief quotations for commentary, criticism or news reporting with adequate attribution are permitted to the extent allowed by section 52 of the Copyright Act, 1957 (fair dealing).
- The open-source tools are provided under their stated repository licences on GitHub; where a licence is stated there, that licence governs the code rather than this section.
6. Acceptable use & prohibited conduct
You agree not to misuse the Service. Without limiting the generality of that obligation, you will not:
- use the Service in any way that violates the laws of India or the laws of your jurisdiction;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, my infrastructure, databases or any third-party systems linked to the Service (such attempts may constitute offences under sections 43, 66, 66C or 66D of the Information Technology Act, 2000);
- introduce or propagate any virus, malware, bot, scrapers, denial-of-service payloads or other harmful code;
- circumvent or exceed any rate limit, security measure or technical restriction;
- reverse-engineer, decompile or otherwise attempt to derive source code of the closed components of the Service;
- impersonate me or any other person, or submit falsified data through the contact form;
- use the contact form or any tool to send unlawful, harassing, defamatory, fraudulent, obscene or spam content (sections 66A/66C/66D relevant offences where applicable);
- collect or harvest personal data of other users through the Service; or
- use the Service in a manner that does not comply with this site's Privacy Policy.
7. Your submissions (contact form & feedback)
When you use the contact form or otherwise write to me, you grant me a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use the content of your message for the purpose of reviewing, answering and, if applicable, maintaining a record of the correspondence. You retain ownership of your message. You warrant that your message does not infringe the rights of any third party, is not unlawful, and that you have authority to provide any information it contains.
This is not a user-generated-content platform. Content published by me is not contributed by users.
8. Tools — client-side processing
The Tools are provided as-is for educational convenience. Most financial and data tools process inputs directly in your browser and do not transmit your inputs to any server, as described in the Privacy Policy and in each tool's own notes. You are responsible for the inputs you enter and for how you use the outputs. Tool outputs (calculations, generated documents, advice summaries) may contain errors.
9. Third-party links, data & services
The Service contains links to third-party websites (for example, GitHub, LinkedIn, broker platforms, stock-data providers such as Screener.in, and cloud providers) and may display data sourced from third parties (for example, stock prices retrieved on a best-effort basis). I do not control and am not responsible for third-party websites, their content, availability, terms or privacy practices. Your use of third-party services is governed by their own terms. Data displayed from third parties is provided on a best-effort, "as of" basis and may be delayed, incomplete or inaccurate.
10. Accuracy of information
I try to keep content and tool logic accurate, but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" and I make no representation or warranty that any content, calculation, data or tool output is complete, error-free, current or suitable for any particular purpose. Tax rules, slabs, deductions and corporate data change over time; calculator logic reflects the assumptions indicated in each tool (for example, the income-tax year selected by you) and may lag legislative changes. Always verify against official sources (e.g., the Income-tax Department and SEBI) and professionals.
11. Intellectual property
The "Sreenath R" name, site design, logos and all marks displayed on this website are owned by me or are used with permission. All other product names, logos and brands mentioned on the website (for example, Databricks, Azure, Cloudflare, Supabase, OCI, NSE, Screener.in) are the property of their respective owners and are referenced only for descriptive or educational purposes. Nothing on this website grants you any right in any such marks.
12. No warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, or accuracy. I do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or free from errors, viruses or other harmful components.
13. Limitation of liability
I have no liability to you or any third party for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages (including loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or opportunity), whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Because this site is a free, personal, educational publication, my total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amounts you have paid me in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim (which will typically be nil) or one hundred rupees (₹100).
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including liability arising from fraud or gross negligence). The disclaimers in this section and section 12 are not intended to exclude liability that cannot be lawfully excluded.
14. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless me and my agents and service providers from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your breach of these Terms; (c) your violation of any law or the rights of any third party; or (d) any content you submit to me. I reserve the right to assume the exclusive defence and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you, at your expense.
15. Grievance redressal (IT Rules, 2021)
Consistent with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, this website observes due diligence and provides a grievance redressal mechanism:
Grievance Officer (Resident of India)
Name: Sreenath R
Email: support@sreenath.tech
Address: Bangalore, Karnataka, India
A complaint in writing (by email) is acknowledged within 24 hours of receipt and is disposed of within 15 days of receipt.
To raise a grievance about content or the Service, email the Grievance Officer with a clear description (and, where the complaint concerns content, the specific URL and the grounds). This mechanism is also available for privacy complaints as described in the Privacy Policy.
16. Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms and your use of the Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to section 15 and any mandatory consumer protection provisions, the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms. In the alternative, and where permitted, you may approach the consumer courts or other forums established under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
17. Termination
I may suspend or terminate your access to the Service (or any feature of it) at any time and without notice if you breach these Terms, or if required by law or a lawful authority. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 4, 5, 11–14, 16 and this sentence) will survive.
18. General provisions
- Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held unlawful, void or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
- Waiver. Failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.
- Assignment. You may not assign your rights under these Terms; I may assign these Terms in connection with a transfer of the website, with notice to you.
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Legal & Regulatory Disclosures, constitute the entire agreement between you and me regarding the Service.
- Changes. I may revise these Terms from time to time; the revised version will be posted on this page with a new effective date and will bind you from that date.
